Counseling & Helping Relations

Catalog description

This course focuses on the stages of the helping relationship. Students apply basic and advanced counseling skills in video-taped role plays. Students learn to assist clients in identifying problems that provides the focus for counseling and implement a treatment plan. A primary focus will be on methods, interventions, and skills essential to counseling. Students will be required to attend a one-day, face-to-face residency experience as part of this course.
