Catalog description
This 3 hour credit course includes a 50-hour school-based practicum that is designed to help the SLA candidate transition from theoretical knowledge to practical application in a public-school setting. The candidate will gain exposure to diverse student populations, a variety of speech and language disorders, and the functional demands of a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The focus is on observation, clinical planning, material development, and the implementation of established treatment plans under the direct supervision of a certified SLP. Prerequisite: Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related field
