Catalog description

A study of the tools and techniques, both oral and written, that are useful for communicating in a business environment in both personal and group situations. Concepts and theories of business communication allow students to develop written and oral communication skills, practice persuasive business writing and deliver individual and team presentations. Corporate business ethics and professional careers are researched, and course topics include resumes, employment interviews, reports, emails and memorandums, verbal and non-verbal communication methods, critical thinking skills, and professional etiquette. Information technology tools are studied to promote creativity and digital alternatives, which include data visualization, social media, digital media, and visual media.
