This course prepares students to navigate complex relationships at the organizational and community levels. Students examine how individuals function within larger systems and the groups that shape them, drawing from social psychology to understand group dynamics. An ecological and interactionist lens is used to study human behavior in broader social settings. The course incorporates principles that emphasize personal agency and resilience within interconnected systems. Topics include the influence of global trends on local communities, the relationship between society and the natural environment, and the integration of restorative approaches and foundational human rights. Connections between spiritual beliefs and environmental responsibility are also explored.
