This course examines the challenges shaping life in the United States today and how sociology helps explain them. Students apply theory to issues that affect individuals, communities, and institutions, exploring their causes and possible responses. By working with current examples, students build skills in communicating ideas, comparing perspectives, and applying sociological thinking to better understand today's society.
