Catalog description

In this course, students learn about creating an environment in the early childhood setting that promotes literacy skill development. Students examine theories and strategies for language development; strategies and assessments to support literacy learning; and strategies to support vocabulary learning, reading comprehension, and family involvement in literacy instruction. Students gain the necessary knowledge and skills to create developmentally effective learning environments that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
