Catalog description

This course focuses on the role of the school principal as a catalyst in developing and maintaining relationships with families, business and community groups, and the media to support a school's vision and programs. Candidates examine the importance of public relations, effective communication practices, and strategies for identifying a community's resources, interests, and needs. Candidates will also analyze ethical considerations for working with external stakeholders, establishing effective media relations, and building business partnerships to benefit their school and community. In addition, candidates plan a social action project that involves school, families, community, and the media. B-4
