Catalog description
Sequential development of consecutive interpreting skills from English to American Sign Language (ASL). Source language analysis and target language equivalents emphasized. Analysis of texts and contexts of naturally occurring monologues, guidance for discovering personal filters, practice of skills, techniques for self and peer evaluations, and application of theoretical models. Prerequisites: (Acceptance into the Interpreter Preparation Program or permission of Department or Division) and a grade of B or better in IPP211.
