Catalog description

This course introduces the discipline of One Health as it relates to human and veterinary public health. Areas of emphasis include the definitions of human public health, veterinary public health, and One Health, the history and examples of public health successes, agencies in human and veterinary settings, an overview of various public health professions and institutions, and an in-depth examination of the core One Health disciplines that influence principles and practice of human and veterinary population medicine and health. Examples and case studies will be utilized to facilitate the classroom discussions, student assignments, and accomplish the course learning objectives. The course will stimulate the students' interest in other public health courses and different communities and societies in the One Health field.
