Rock Ensemble

Catalog description

Rehearsal and performance of 20th and 21st-century popular music repertoire. Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students. The ensemble features experienced electric guitarists, bass guitarists, drummers, vocalists, and more, all participating in collaborative and exploratory weekly rehearsals. Throughout the semester, Rock Ensemble students learn assigned repertoire as well as songs of the group's choosing, culminating in a final concert featuring musicians split into curated bands. The ensemble is committed to a diverse assortment of material from all rock and popular music sub-genres, decades, and band configurations. An audition may be required for placement, dictated by demand and musical needs.
