Programming literacy, data analysis and problem-solving skills are important for business students as organizations look to make data and model-informed decisions and to automate tasks and processes. Business school graduates may have to perform such tasks and analyses themselves using programming languages or may have to interact with and/or supervise software engineers and data analysts who perform these tasks and analyses. Programming Skills for Business will provide students with foundational programming skills that can be used to model and solve complex business problems and automate routine tasks and processes. Students will learn core programming concepts and practice computational thinking. They will also learn how to retrieve, clean, transform, visualize, summarize, and analyze data to support decision-making. Programming language, coding platforms and libraries or packages used will vary and evolve to keep pace with changing technology landscape, student needs and instructor interest.
