Step-by-Step Korean 21 is the third in a series of four two-credit Korean language courses ( KOR 11 , KOR 12 , KOR 21 , and KOR 22 ), designed for students who prefer a slower pace or have demanding schedules. This course is for students who have successfully completed Step-by-Step Korean 2 ( KOR 12 ), KOR 1 , or an equivalent introductory course. It covers the first half of the material in KOR 2 : Level One KOR B (4 credits) and continues to develop foundational language skills, with an emphasis on reinforcing and mastering basic grammatical structures through consistent aural and oral practice. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand short conversations and written texts related to familiar, everyday topics such as routines, preferences, and personal experiences. They will begin to participate in simple conversations using strings of learned phrases and short sentences, and will be able to write short, connected sentences about familiar subjects. The course supports learners in developing stronger control of foundational grammar and vocabulary, with increasing fluency and accuracy. Students will also explore aspects of Korean culture and daily life to enhance their ability to interact appropriately in basic social situations.
