KOR 12
Step-by-Step Korean 2
Pennsylvania State University-World Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Step-by-Step Korean 2 is the second in a sequence of four two-credit Korean language courses ( KOR 11 , 12 , 21 , and 22 ), thoughtfully designed for students who benefit from a slower learning pace or have demanding schedules. This course is intended for those who have completed KOR 11 or an equivalent introductory course. KOR 12 continues with the second half of the curriculum from KOR 1 : Level 1 Korean A (4 credits), offering a more gradual approach to learning core grammar and vocabulary essential for building foundational Korean proficiency. Emphasis is placed on all four language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing - to strengthen basic communicative abilities while reinforcing and expanding foundational grammar. By the end of the course, students will be able to read and write in Hangul with improved fluency. The course also introduces aspects of Korean culture and daily life, helping students develop a deeper understanding of how language and culture interact in real-world communication.
