Catalog description

Step-by-Step Korean 1 is the first in a sequence of four two-credit Korean language courses ( KOR 11 , KOR 12 , KOR 21 , and KOR 22 ), tailored for students who prefer a more gradual learning pace or have demanding commitments. No previous experience with Korean is necessary. This course covers the first half of the content taught in KOR 1 : Level One Korean A (4 credits), introducing fundamental grammatical structures through authentic oral practice. Focus is placed on developing core skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In addition, students will explore real-world contexts - such as language use and cultural norms - commonly encountered in modern Korean society, helping them use the language in ways that are both socially and culturally appropriate.
