Catalog description

This course will examine the overlapping methodologies in the fields of kinesiology and written, artistic and oral promotion of health and wellness. In the collaboration of numerous fields of study, students will examine and develop habits and techniques to create balance while promoting personal health and wellness behaviors, managing stress, and promoting well-being. Components will include the assessment of physical, emotional, social, environmental, occupational, spiritual, and nutritional areas of wellness, coupled with journal writing, mindfulness, and other reflective techniques to promote increased levels of wellness. Students will create metacognitive articles, narratives, dialogues, art, music, dance, poetry, or posts on social media designed to inform and persuade their audience about health and wellness topics. Students will share their work with the class, the campus community, and on social media.
