Step-by-Step Japanese 2 is the second in a series of four two-credit Japanese language courses ( JAPNS 11 , JAPNS 12 , JAPNS 21 , and JAPNS 22 ), designed for students who prefer a slower pace or have demanding schedules. This course is for students who have successfully completed Step-by-Step Japanese 1 ( JAPNS 11 ) or an equivalent course. It covers the second half of the material in JAPNS 1 : Level One Japanese A (4 credits) and reinforces and expands on fundamental grammatical structures through aural-oral practice. By the end of the course, students will be able to read and write approximately sixty kanji, building on those introduced in the previous course, while further developing both their reading and writing fluency. The course also introduces aspects of Japanese culture and customs, which are essential for socio-culturally appropriate communication.
