Applied Artificial Intelligence Project Lifecycle
Pennsylvania State University-World Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This advanced, project-based course guides students through the full life cycle of developing, deploying, and evaluating an AI-driven application. Working individually or in teams, students will take an applied problem from concept to implementation - moving through the stages of ideation, data acquisition and preparation, model selection and training, system integration, deployment, and post-deployment evaluation. Emphasis is placed on designing AI systems that are technically sound, ethically responsible, and aligned with user and organizational goals. By the end of the course, students will have completed and presented a fully functional AI application accompanied by documentation, testing artifacts, and a final project report, demonstrating mastery of both the technical and ethical dimensions of modern AI development.
