Catalog description

This course examines various texts and visual media from the Middle Ages to the present in which the natural world plays a central role. From haunted forests to the Green Party, and from fairy tales to modern eco-thrillers, the dangers, wonders, and fragility of the environment remain critical to the German imagination. In this course we will link media (e.g., literature, music, the arts, and digital media) to topics including environmental catastrophe, climate change, sustainability and co-existing with nature.
