Humanizing Data

Humanizing Data is an advanced-level studio course appropriate for students enrolled in a graphic design program. Students in this course will apply the knowledge and techniques learned in GD 115N and GD 207 to visualize information as design solutions. Through lectures, activities, and projects, students will learn multidimensional and multimedia design approaches to visualize information. They will observe the various complicated problems around them and will explore the various types of information sets - Numerical, Hierarchical, Relational, Temporal, Spatial, and Sequential - to visualize information about the problems. They will practice the various skills and approaches to deliver the significant meaning of the information efficiently to their target audience.
