French for Global Health

Catalog description

This course introduces students to key issues in Francophone global health while equipping them with the structures, concepts, and vocabulary needed to communicate in French across a range of health-related and medical contexts. Emphasizing authentic oral and written materials, the course prepares students to analyze global health challenges affecting French-speaking communities worldwide and to engage in thoughtful discussion about these issues. By the end of the course, students will be able to discuss their own health and wellness in diverse contexts, identify major health challenges within their own communities and across the Francophone world, and connect language study to real-world applications. The course is open to French minors, majors, and students who have completed 200-level coursework.
