ETI 100 explores the essential relationship between IT and business, introducing students to core concepts that enable IT to support and enhance business operations. Artificial intelligence (AI) concepts are studied and applied as they apply to key course topics. Students study data management to understand how organizations leverage data as a valuable business asset, automate processes, and drive decision-making. The course covers cloud computing, enterprise systems, and AI-driven analytics, emphasizing their role in modern business strategies. Additionally, students will explore systems integration, learning how IT ecosystems leverage APIs and AI-driven automation to improve efficiency and scalability. Project management principles will be introduced, focusing on IT initiatives that integrate AI and digital transformation. Communication and teamwork skills will be developed, ensuring students can collaborate effectively across business and IT functions. By the end of the course, students will understand how IT and AI work together to optimize business operations, enhance decision-making, and support long-term strategic goals.
