Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth look at developing new products or services as an entrepreneur or within an existing organization. Students analyze attributes of companies that welcome innovation where they can employ the entrepreneurial mindset to spearhead new opportunities within a company. Students explore potential opportunities through a Business Model Canvas that highlights key strategic factors such as: customer value proposition, customer segments, channels/route to market, customer relations, revenue streams, resources, partnerships, and cost structure. These elements are applied to both new or novel ideas as an entrepreneur and to intrapreneurship, identifying opportunities within an existing organization and learning the role of a product manager. This class is required for the Product Innovation Cluster of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENTI) minor and is an option for the Product Innovation Entrepreneurship Certificate (PINENT).
