Catalog description

The Engineering Bridge course assists in the onboarding of incoming first-year students through the Multicultural Engineering Program, which strives to foster a welcoming environment that celebrates culture and inclusion while working towards increasing the recruitment and retention of racially and ethnically minoritized students pursuing engineering degrees. The course is designed for incoming first-year students in engineering majors at Penn State and includes structured social and cultural activities that encourage students to build relationships with each other and relate in-class programs to out-of-class experiences. The course will guide participants toward academic success to give them a head start in the challenging yet rewarding fields of engineering.
