Catalog description

This course guides students in the development of their capstone design project proposal and will mimic the problems encountered by an engineer working in commercial, industrial, and governmental entities. Students will select a topic, do the initial research for the topic, prepare a timeline, and prepare a well-written proposal that would make a suitable capstone project. The proposal will incorporate relevant engineering standards and integrate realistic economic, environmental, sustainability, manufacturability, ethical, health and safety, social, and political constraints. The time devoted to the careful selection of a topic, research of that topic, development of a timeline, and formal proposal preparation makes for a much better capstone design experience in EET 420W .
