Catalog description

This course uses an internship education approach comprised of field placement hours and weekly seminars. Students in 295 will be supervised during their current, off-campus full-time work (to count as the early childhood field experience) and will practice strategies learned in previous coursework as well as in weekly seminars under the direction and supervision of Penn State Early Childhood Instructors. Learning opportunities for students will include designing and implementing holistic experiences and associated assessment practices to support all young children, 0-5 years old. In seminars and in the field, support will also be offered to complete the required portfolio and assignments for a Child Development Associate certificate.
