Catalog description

DART 415 Immersive Media Studio (4) is a digital art course that provides student with an in-depth and hands-on studio experience with immersive media and related technologies (virtual reality, augmented reality, haptic technologies, etc.). This course will focus on creative investigation and interdisciplinary exploration of the medium and engage students in world building through the medium of immersive reality. Students will build virtual environment using 3D modeling software, create interactive elements utilizing game engines, and apply technical knowledge to creative storytelling. Through a series of technical demonstrations, weekly screenings, theoretical readings, individual research, and student presentations, students will learn fundamentals of the immersive reality medium and construct their own virtual experiences.
