Catalog description

The course is designed to encourage and support students to work together in reimagining classroom management as an equitable approach for co-creating classroom communities that are safe, affirming, creative, intellectually challenging, and engaging. In this class we ask, "How can classrooms be places where every learner has every opportunity to thrive?" By connecting field experiences and reflections of students' identities, beliefs, and dispositions, the course provides the time and space for students to reimagine classroom management in community. In this class, students will have opportunities to learn from research, theory, and practice as they engage with literature and stories of classrooms, while joining professional conversations and asking important questions related to equitable classroom management.
