CHEM 316 CHEM 316 The Professional Chemist (2) This third-year seminar course is designed to help prepare chemistry majors to take advantage of opportunities provided by the Department and community of professional chemists in choosing, attaining, and furthering their career goals. A number of guest lectures cover a variety of career-related topics. Careers in the pharmaceutical, chemical production, biotechnology, and analytical sectors and other specialty companies will be discussed. Also, various academic careers paths are presented and compared. Additionally, the course will encourage practice of skills such as networking and professional communication.
