Catalog description

Strong grant writing, financial stewardship, and organizational management are the backbone of effective nonprofit and development work. These skills ensure that organizations can secure funding, operate efficiently, and remain accountable to both funders and the communities they serve. In this course, you'll learn how to find funding opportunities, write competitive grant proposals, and administer and monitor grant performance. You'll also learn the basics of nonprofit and small-organization management, including project planning, budgeting, personnel management, and event marketing. Guest speakers from the field provide real-world insights throughout the semester.
