Catalog description

This second course in the CED 3-course sequence on data analysis and visualization (CED 204, CED 405 , and either CED 407 or CED 408 , depending upon your option) bridges research and action. You'll learn how to transform complex data into visual stories that inform and influence real-world decisions. Using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, and R, you'll create dashboards, maps, and visual stories that support decision-making for case studies drawn from community development, economic development, and corporate social responsibility work. You'll learn how data visualization supports community and economic development and CSR - and how to communicate your findings to the people who need them. By the end of the course, you'll have career-ready portfolio pieces that showcase your ability to use data for impact.
