C E 333W C E 333W Construction Management I (3) The object of this course is to have a broad understanding of the business process in the construction industry. The construction industry offers a variety of organization with each having specialized needs and processes in operating an effective business. The professional constructor deals with a complex process of decisions and auctions that start from the time of projects conception until the project is completed. The course addresses issues involving legal and code requirements, necessary documents in selecting projects, developing estimates, determining delivery systems, planning and scheduling, and managing a construction project. Also covered are the liability issues that will be required, insurances or bond requirements, and the ethical role of the constructor. The managerial and safety role of the professional constructor is also introduced.
