Catalog description

This course explores the interrelationships between communication practices and the goals of a civil society. The objectives of the course include developing students' awareness of principles of civility, the history of civil discourse and its impact on people and communities, enhancing student speaking and listening skills, helping students develop an awareness of nonverbal and verbal behaviors, and the theoretical background of civil discourse practices and impact.
