Catalog description

This course builds upon students' prior community engaged learning experiences and serves as a culminating opportunity to integrate and apply Biobehavioral Health concepts within a community setting. Students will choose a community site and complete a service commitment, engage in reflective assignments and discussions. Students will integrate the knowledge they have gained from their prior community engagement experiences to plan, organize, implement and evaluate a project that responds to local community needs. Students will develop professional goals related to health equity, gain an understanding of diversity and intercultural competencies and examine how civic engagement and service can create positive change within local communities.
