Physiology of Animal Reproduction

Catalog description

This course is a detailed study of reproductive processes in animals. Students will gain a fundamental understanding of the development, organization and functions of the reproductive system with a focus on domestic animals. This will include understanding endocrine regulation of reproductive processes and how hormones affect cellular function. Comparisons to primates, rodents, wild species and non-mammalian species will also be made. Students will develop an understanding of factors that affect reproductive success and how this knowledge can be used to regulate/manage reproductive processes of domestic animals, wildlife and humans.
