English 135 considers literature from diverse backgrounds (for example, Latinato, African-American, Asian-American, Native-American, Jewish, Muslim, working-class, lesbian, gay, or women's literature, or any other configuration that expresses an alternative literary heritage to traditionally canonized texts).
