Seminar in Innovation and Research Formulation

Catalog description

The goal of this course is for students to gain experience in the process of innovation and research formulation that is necessary for successful completion of the doctoral dissertation and for future research in the fields of health economics, health services research, population health, and health policy. Students will learn how to critically assess emerging research in these fields and define their own research questions by focusing on study significance, innovation, research design, impact, and limitations. An emphasis will be placed on identifying promising lines of research, as opposed to individual projects, and on determining strategies for optimizing research output and impact.
