System architecture is an abstract view of a complex system distinct from the details of how such a system is implemented. It plays a significant role in developing complex systems that meet expectations of their stakeholders and achieve the mission and life cycle concepts of the system. This course covers the fundamental concepts, techniques, and methods for creating and analyzing system architecture of complex systems. System engineers, system architects, product design engineers, product managers, and project managers working in system development of commercial or military engineering systems will benefit from this course. Major topics to be covered include analysis of form and function, the process of mapping form to function, and methods of decomposition and re-integration, application of model based systems engineering for development and analysis of system architecture, and view-based architectural frameworks for documentation of system architecture.
