Clinical Practicum III

Catalog description
This is the third in a series of six clinical practicum courses. This course builds on the clinical knowledge and skills developed in Clinical Practicum II and through in-hospital experiences. Learners will apply critical thinking skills, best practices, didactic knowledge into clinical anesthetic practice for a variety of patients undergoing a variety of surgical and medical procedures. Clinical experiences focus on anesthesia care of complex and diverse patient populations across the lifespan undergoing elective and emergency surgical and medical procedures. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, vigilance, culturally competent care of the patient across the peri-anesthetic continuum, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication. Clinical competency is assessed through performance in the clinical environment.
