Landscape Architecture Theory and Literature

Catalog description

This graduate seminar explores contemporary theoretical frameworks and literature in landscape architecture since 2000, with a focus on landscape epistemology, ecological design, systems thinking, biodiversity, climate resilience, environmental justice, and digital technologies. In addition, the course examines social and political dimensions of landscape architecture and planning, including issues of spatial organization, equity, and power relations in design/planning practices. Students will critically engage with scholarly texts and design case studies to develop a personal understanding of landscape architecture as a cultural, ecological, and technological practice.
