This course is designed to provide the requisite knowledge and skills for leading quality and safety improvement efforts in health services organizations. Organized into four modules of focused learning - the course introduces the student to clinical quality improvement, utilizing quantitative methods to improve healthcare quality, the fundamentals of patient safety, and the leadership of high-reliability organizations. An operational case-study approach is used within each module to provide an in-depth immersion across healthcare sectors, focused on strategies and tools that lessen risk and improve quality and safety.
