NURS 869F
Clinical Practicum VI
Pennsylvania State University-Mont Alto Campus · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This is the final course in a series of six clinical practicum courses. This course builds on the clinical knowledge and skills developed in Clinical Practicum V and through in-hospital experiences. Learners will become expert in the application of critical thinking skills, best practices, and didactic knowledge into clinical anesthetic practice, mirroring that of an entry-level CRNA. Clinical experiences focus on anesthesia care of complex and diverse patient populations across the lifespan undergoing elective and emergency surgical and medical procedures. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, vigilance, culturally competent care of the patient across the peri-anesthetic continuum, critical thinking, reflective thinking, and interpersonal communication of an anesthesia provider. Clinical competency is assessed through performance in the clinical environment.
