Principles of Nurse Anesthesia Practice IV: Special Procedures and Populations II

Catalog description

This doctoral-level course is the final course in a series of four courses that includes core principles and competencies required for safe and effective nurse anesthesia practice across the lifespan. This course prepares students to manage a variety of patient populations across the lifespan and for a variety of specialty surgical procedures. Students will learn evidence-based techniques for the management of pediatric, neonatal, and obstetric patient populations. Students engage in 12 hours of high-fidelity simulation to practice crisis management, procedural skills, and the integration of multimodal anesthesia techniques into diverse surgical contexts. The course reinforces ethical and safe decision-making, clinical adaptability, and the delivery of person-centered, high-quality anesthesia care in complex and evolving environments.
