This course provides a general introduction to sociology, the study of the social institutions, relationships, and power dynamics that shape our lives, with a focus on the United States. Sociology is a broad and diverse field that touches on many important and interesting topics, including social change, friendship, love, politics, crime, and economic inequality. In this introduction to sociology, we will introduce some of the major sociological theories within the discipline, learn about fundamental sociological concepts and methodologies, and think sociologically about the United States. This is an Honors section.
