Catalog description
This course builds on previous knowledge of pathophysiology with a specific focus on neurologic processes and differentiation between normal and abnormal function in acute and chronic illnesses. Students will recognize vulnerabilities in individuals and groups after reviewing etiology, neuroscience, developmental considerations, complications, and clinical manifestations of specific psychiatric disease processes. Individual cases will be introduced to facilitate the analysis of history, signs and symptoms, and laboratory and diagnostic data.
