This doctoral-level course is the third in a series of four courses that includes core principles and competencies required for safe and effective nurse anesthesia practice across the lifespan. This course prepares students to manage complex anesthesia scenarios by integrating advanced techniques, interprofessional collaboration, and clinical judgment. Students will learn evidence-based techniques for the management of patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures. The course emphasizes a team-based approach to anesthetic crisis management and safety through 12 hours of simulation to practice crisis management and procedural skills. The course reinforces ethical and safe decision-making, clinical adaptability, and the delivery of person-centered, high-quality anesthesia care in complex and evolving environments.
