Catalog description

Students will learn about lifespan development in counseling. Students increase knowledge and awareness of internal factors of development, such as neurobiology and physiology; and external factors, such as systemic privilege and oppression, disability, and cultural context. Students will apply developmental theories to case conceptualization and treatment planning in counseling. Students will also critically assess theories of human development and the interaction among psychological and social aspects of development for historically marginalized populations.
