Head and Neck Cancer Management

Catalog description

This course covers the unique challenges of evaluating and treating speech, voice, and swallowing disorders resulting from treatment for head and neck cancer. A basic understanding of the causes of and surgical/chemoradiation treatments for various types of head and neck cancers will be obtained. Emphasis will be placed on communication and swallowing evaluations and rehabilitation following cancer treatments. A team approach to patient care will be stressed.
