The course explores the need for communication of information across functional areas to meet an organization's contemporary auditing, professional and legal considerations. The role of information systems is demonstrated by a focus on reporting objectives, management needs, transaction trails, documentation, security, internal controls, and the integration of accounting systems in the evaluation and selection of software.
