This course is a seminar series focused on the consequences of demographic change for societies, population subgroups, communities, households and individuals, as well as how demographic characteristics and processes interact with biological, psychological, behavioral, social, cultural, economic, policy, and/or spatial processes to affect individual, group, and population outcomes. Example seminar topics include (1) kinship demography, (2) demography of the life course, (3) immigration and population health, (4) climate change and demographic processes, and (5) demographic patterns and education policy. Specific seminar topics will vary across course offerings and students can repeat this course as topics change to meet Demography program requirements. Students are advised to reach out to the instructor to learn the specific course focus and to select courses in consultation with their adviser.
