Catalog description

Examines uses and interrelationships of genetic studies with model systems from yeast to mice in elucidating signaling pathways. GENET 582GENET 582 Genetics of Model Organisms: Molecular Genetic Analysis of Signaling Pathways: B (1) This course presents the use of genetic analysis in model organisms and systems with its application to the study and dissection of biological pathways and processes. elucidation of target of rapamycin (TOR) signal transduction pathway will be used to develop concepts and techniques that are critical components of genetic studies. Integration of studies from multiple model systems will be used to compare and contrast the specific methods and techniques that underlie the use of similar genetic concepts in different organisms and systems.
